GoToAssist uses standard HTTP outbound connections to transparently enable screen-sharing sessions even with corporate firewalls in place. End-User Permissions and Control: The user is always in control of a GoToAssist session. The user must first grant permission for the representative to access his/her PC. How to Get Support
| Step 1: | First call on the phone to speak with a member of our support team. You will be directed to the Central Texas Technology Solutions GoToAssist website. | |
| Step 2: | You will be prompted to download a small virus-free plug-in, when prompted, click 'Yes' , 'Grant this session', 'Allow always' or 'Run' on all prompts to allow the software to load in your browser. When the GoToAssist "Start ScreenSharing" window appears on your desktop, select the level of access you wish to allow your representative and click "OK" (this will start the ScreenSharing session). | |
| Step 3: | Your support representative will then be able to view your screen and, if you authorized, share control of your mouse and keyboard. Note: You are always in full control of your computer at all times. You always have overriding control of your mouse and keyboard, and you can end the screen-sharing session at any time. |
