Security is one thing, peace of mind is another

A fact of technology: computers and software are vulnerable to security attacks.  If your software is completely up-to-date, you are less vulnerable to these attacks.  Did you know that Microsoft releases updates for its software every Tuesday? It’s called “Patch Tuesday,” and in the past, these patches could wreak havoc with previously stable systems.  Those days might be behind us, but the wise user still approaches updates with caution.  A less wise user might not update due to time constraints.

This past Tuesday, April 12, Microsoft released 17 updates to address 64 vulnerabilities, with nine rating “critical.” This highest rating should indicate the need for these updates. Microsoft places high priority on the security of their software.  Not updating your system leaves your system open for viruses, malware, or spyware and can even lead to data loss.

What? You aren’t sure if your system is up to date? You’re busy?  No worries.  If you’re a Managed IT Services client of CTTS, we automatically test and then push critical updates to your desktops and servers.  Managed IT Services clients also receive a host of other valuable services such as system monitoring, unlimited remote and phone support, asset tracking, and optimizations to ensure uninterrupted availability.

If you’re not a Managed IT Services client, gain peace of mind from this service and contact Josh Wilmoth at (512) 388-5559.
