So much of modern business resides in the cloud, that a fast and reliable internet connection is a must-have for productivity in today’s office.
If you are having issues with slow computers, but it’s all the computers in the office, the issue could be your network! Here are 3 things you can to do to see if your network connectivity is slowing you down:
*NOTE* If you’re a Managed Services Client with CTTS, contact us first! We are happy to assist with this, and will even contact your internet service provider (ISP) on your behalf. Just call (512) 388-5559.
- If your internet is usually fast but has been sluggish for everyone in the office, reboot your network – modem, router, and computers. If that doesn’t work, contact your IT department or your ISP.
- If your internet still slow after a reboot, use Managed Network equipment like your Meraki or Datto Networking Appliances to quickly see what is using all your Bandwidth (the maximum amount of traffic your internet connection can take). From there you can see if you want to do content filtering, traffic shaping, or if you need to proceed with step 3.
- Contact your internet service provider to see if you can upgrade your speeds. Often this comes with a cost, but more than once we have seen them lower their price to get you on an upgraded contract.
Internet connectivity issues can be debilitating but many are easily resolved with a few simple steps. As always, feel free to contact CTTS for this or any computer issues you have. We’re here to help!
